Life Drawing
We spent some time during this session to take a look at proportions by measuring with our thumbs and pencils. I used charcoals as it gave me more freedom when quickly sketching the model, this works especially well for the 2-5 minute sketches we were doing.
We moved from the quick sketches to longer 10 minute poses.
finally we were given 30 minutes to produce a full drawing of the model. I really enjoyed using charcoals for this task as i was able to show details but still use the material to be expressive when making lines and marks on the paper. The only issue I have with my drawing is that I didn't leave my self enough time to finish it and that the foot looks out of proportion to her body.

i was asked to draw a basic squirrel character design to demonstrate these techniques focusing mainly on the tails movement. I made the squirrels body movement quite quick and snappy which i think improves the the motion of the tail and adds character to this basic design.
The idea of over lap and follow through in this is that as the body lands the tail is still following behind, and when the squirrel takes off again the tail is landing behind him and overlapping the characters action and following through when the character stops, so once the characters body finally lands the tail still has to move into place.
